Price slashing

I've decided, since people seem unwilling to buy my e-book at its current price, that I'm lowering the price to £1/$1.50. As such, I'm re-posting the links to the e-book here.

UK purchase

US purchase

I would really appreciate hearing your opinions on the stories, from a purely story stand point.

Contacts

Since it would be quite expensive for me to conduct research outside of the UK, I've asked a few people out in the US to look into my research for me. I won't disclose their identities, but rest assured these people know what they're doing and they'll get back to me the minute they find something out.

In the mean time, I'll be working on my own research here in the UK, most likely starting here in Glasgow. I might have to ask that everyone is patient, since it could take a while to find anything relevant. Bear in my mind that my father had years to find the stories he collected. I'll try not to take quite that long, and chances are I won't since I'm not alone in the search.

If anyone has any information about the symbol we're looking for, pictured above, whether it's the meaning of the strange runes, the significance of individual part of the symbol or just the general importance of it, let me know at either my e-mail address (violetbluemason@hotmail.com), my Facebook (I'll ask that you restrict it to private messages), or through the comments here.

E-book

The day has come, my friends. I have officially published my father's stories. Hopefully this will be the first step in my journey to the core of these tales. I was fortunate enough to be able to publish this for free, meaning I was able to set the price quite low. I think £2.00 is reasonable enough, as I don't expect to make a huge profit from this, and I am much more concerned with people reading and sharing these stories than with people buying them.

Here is the link to the book in question. I'm hoping enough people with read these that I can share my further research safe in the knowledge that there are at least some who take some enjoyment from it, if nothing else.

I will most likely be posting again once I've found my first lead. Until then, I hope you find some entertainment in the tales my father left to me.

Start at the beginning

It'll probably be a while until anyone reads this, but I thought a little introduction was in order regardless.

I am Violet Mason, an aspiring author following in the footsteps of my father. I'm currently working on a collection of short stories based on a book that belonged to him. I found it after he left the house to me. I don't live in that house, too many memories, but I took a look around so I could tidy it up in case I could bring myself to sell it. I'm still sitting on that decision.

Anyway, I'll be publishing the collection myself as an e-book. I would have it published now, as I'm done writing the five stories I chose to share. I've not done it because I've yet to find a suitable artist to help design the front cover. I have a friend who may be doing it, once he knuckles down and learns to draw like he was planning. Otherwise, it'll cost me about £30 or so from the research I did, the kind of money I'd prefer to use for more useful things.

I decided to start this blog for after I've got the book published. I intend to search for stories, just like my father did. I want to delve deeper into the world his tales showed me, and come back with some research of my own. Naturally, I'll be sharing some of the stories I find, as I'm going to do with my father's.

I'll be using this blog to document the people I encounter, to perhaps flesh out better the stories they tell me. It might take a while before I have anything to post, as I'll mostly be working on getting the first set of stories out there, but rest assured I'll share as much as I can once I have the ball rolling, so to speak.

So I've reached the beginning of my journey. Who knows where this path will take me, and where it will end.

Addition: I'd like it if you'd add me as a friend on Facebook as well. I'm known as Violet Mason there too. I'm the one with Harley Quinn as the profile picture (this is a temporary thing), and I live in Glasgow, UK.
